Before beginning her formal theological studies, Misti founded and was owner-operator of a motorcoach business, located in Mobile, Alabama. Her company specialized in providing charter bus transportation for school, church, and organizational groups, as well as FEMA and the Department of Defense to locations within the continental United States and Canada. Over the course of nine years (from 2002-2011) her company grew from one motorcoach to a fleet of fifteen coaches as well as a maintenance facility and over forty employees. Her business expertise was honored in 2011 when her company was named the Small Business of the Month by the Mobile, AL Chamber of Commerce. In November 2011, Misti sold the company to return to Tennessee and complete her education. The combination of her theological training and research interests, along with her extensive business experience makes her a unique and valuable member of the Centre’s staff.
